Ideally, you should be taking care of your mouth every single day. One of the most important things you can do is clean your mouth with oral health care cleaning materials to improve your hygiene and keep your mouth free and clear of debris. Not only should you be brushing your teeth at least twice every day, but you also need to make sure that you floss between your teeth as well. In situations where your toothbrush or dental floss are not working correctly, it may be a good idea to replace them or seek out alternative cleaning utensils.
Each brushing session per day should be at least two to three minutes long. Make sure to clean on all sides of a tooth including the inner, outer and chewing surfaces. A good angle to brush from is roughly at 45-degrees, which is helpful for removing any bacteria that may begin to build up in the form of plaque. When your brush is not in use, store it in a safe place so it will not be contaminated. This includes away from other toothbrushes. Also, never share your toothbrush and never let anyone else use your toothbrush.
For flossing techniques, always make sure to wrap each end of the floss around a finger on each hand and be sure to move up and down the strand as necessary to prevent contamination. Always use a different section of the strand between each tooth. Clean between each and every tooth and behind your back row. If you’re struggling with traditional dental floss, switch to a water flosser instead.
